Every student, understood.

Tutoring programs built around your student.

Socravia designs custom one-on-one test prep and academic tutoring programs for grades 5–12. We start by understanding your student, match each subject with a specialist and stay in touch with your family as the program unfolds.

A program designed around each student

Good tutoring starts before the first session. We learn where your student is starting, what their test or class will ask of them and how they learn best. Then we build a program around what we find, and stay involved as it unfolds.

Tests for selective and private schools

In Chicago, we prepare students for the PreACT 9 Secure used in CPS high school admissions and the Academic Center entrance exam. We also plan programs for the HSPT, ISEE, SSAT, TACHS and SHSAT. Requirements vary by school; families complete official registration and applications.

Academic tutoring

School subjects, AP® and study skills

Support in grades 5–12, including AP® courses and exam preparation. We learn about the student's coursework and needs, pass that context to their tutor, and connect sessions to what's happening in class.

What makes a program

A clear plan and people who pay attention.

01

A written plan

We learn about your student's goals, coursework, strengths and challenges, then share that context with their tutors. Test prep adds an exam-specific baseline to shape the plan.

02

A specialist for every subject

Tutors teach where they're strongest, so each part of the program is taught by someone whose strength is that subject.

03

The right fit

Our tutors bring different methods. We match your student with a tutor whose approach fits, and can consider another match if needed.

04

A company that pays attention

We follow each student's progress and keep in touch with families throughout the program.

How a program works

A clear plan, with room to adjust.

Families should know what their student is working on and why. We begin with a conversation and use the right evidence for the goal, put the plan in writing and revisit it as the work unfolds.

Families handle official test registration and school applications, or follow their school's testing instructions. We help them understand the steps and deadlines.

  1. 01

    A free consultation

Tell us about your student, their goals and timeline. We'll explain how a program would work and answer your questions.

  2. 02

    Understand the starting point

We ask about your student's coursework, goals, strengths and challenges, and share the relevant context with their tutors. Test prep also uses a free exam-specific baseline diagnostic at home.

  3. 03

    A written plan

We recommend a program with hours, pacing, dates, specialist tutors and resources suited to the goal.

  4. 04

    One-on-one tutoring

Your student works live online with subject specialists, with assignments between test prep sessions that build on the work.

  5. 05

    Practice, review and adjustment

For test prep, full-length practice tests at home are scored and reviewed. We adjust the plan as your student progresses.

The right expertise can come from anywhere.

When tutoring doesn't depend on who can reach your home or an office, we can match your student with the right specialist for each subject, wherever that tutor is based.

Sessions are interactive. Tutor and student work through problems together on a shared virtual whiteboard, and practice test results come back through an online scoring portal. There's no commute to fit around school, activities and everything else in a busy week.

Technology supports the work; people do the teaching.

Founded by a tutor

Teaching experience, built into the company.

Socravia was founded by Andrew Kletzien, who has tutored since high school and worked one-on-one with more than 500 students over more than 10,000 hours. He spent seven years at an established Chicago test prep firm, becoming its chief operating officer within his first year and building its operations while keeping a full tutoring schedule.

He started Socravia to build a tutoring company that designs a program around each student, matches every subject with a specialist tutor and pays attention as the program unfolds.

Start with a free consultation

Tell us what your student is working toward.

A consultation is a conversation. Tell us where your student is now, what's coming up and what has or hasn't worked before. We'll explain how a program could work, answer your questions and suggest a sensible next step.

An inquiry starts a conversation; it does not reserve an appointment.
